Dr. Nick Kerry

Nicholas Kerry received his PhD in Psychological Science from Tulane University, New Orleans, studying with Dr. Damian Murray. His PhD research focused on how people calibrate their attitudes, beliefs, and behavior to the environment they are in and the attributes they have. For example, how does becoming a parent affect people’s political attitudes? And how do a person’s physical attributes influence their personality? These lines of research have led to publications in journals such as Psychological Science and Social Psychological and Personality Science

Since starting on the Primals Project as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2021, Nick’s research has continued along a similar path, focusing on how people’s experiences and surroundings might—or, in many cases, might not—influence their primal world beliefs, and how primals relate to social attitudes such as political ideology.
