Rive Cadwallader, Primals Project Manager
Rive Cadwallader oversees the administration of the Primals Project, including managing the Primals Research Awards, coordinating collaborative research, organizing communications and events, and assisting with various aspects of in-house research. Rive’s interest in primals stems from her belief that understanding the specific ways we see the world can help us better understand ourselves. She received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018 with majors in Health and Societies (with a focus on the History of Medicine) and Classical Studies. As a student, Rive organized and promoted rare manuscript collections at Penn’s Kislak Center, where she once encountered a prosthetic glass eye in the bottom of a dusty box of letters. Rive also worked at The Woodlands, a historic cemetery in West Philadelphia, where she mostly assisted with genealogical inquiries, wrote some blog posts and planted a lot of flower bulbs. Before joining the Primals Project, Rive worked in the Fellowships program at the Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, a grantmaking organization that supports Philadelphia’s artistic and cultural community. Rive enjoys poetry, jury duty, and long bike rides around Philadelphia.
